When we moved here were thought it would be the usual 2 year posting but 7 years later we're still here! This means we've missed out on 3 moving clear-outs. I now know that our moving date will be around May 2017 so I'm starting to think about how much stuff we've accumulated here. This year I want to go through every drawer and cupboard and my craft room clear-out is just the start of that.
Anyway, back to cards. I thought I'd blog this one today. It uses the same stencil as my last card but has a very different look - this time I used copper embossing powder for the frame. I hope you can see it but it's a nightmare to photograph.
I didn't want to get any stray Versamark ink through the oval centre so I taped it in place. I could then press the pad through the stencil without having to be careful.
Once I had the copper frame done I started work on the central panel, inking in the vase and oval....
............before adding the grasses.
I just wanted three of this one so I masked off one before I inked it again. Don't forget to remove the tape before you stamp!!!!!!!!
To finish it off I stamped and embossed part of one of the other grass stamps on the vase.

Beautiful Lynne inspired idea to emboss the frame.
ReplyDeleteI do not envy your clear out..when we had to vacate our house for renovations the other it was a nightmare. ..we had been here for over 25 years so you can imagine! Wishing you luck with your declutter
Thanks Linda. I dread to think what my house would look like if I hadn't moved for that long. Moving is a great incentive for a clear-out. x

Wonderful Lynne.
ReplyDeleteThanks Naomi. x
DeleteWonderful Lynne. I love the embossed frame. I have a lot of army wives as friends as I worked at Leconfield barracks for a long time, and they all said that the thing about moving is you don't accumulate a lot of stuff. It probably isn't as bad as you think once you get started.

Amanda. Xx
Thanks Amanda. I think I went to visit Hubby at Leconfield when he was on a course once. As with so many other things, I think I am the exception to that rule. :) x
DeleteI love the embossed frame and the stamped vase Lynne. Can't offer any good advice about decluttering as my Mum and Nan kept everything "just in case" and now I've inherited some of it and can't bring myself to get rid of it xx
ReplyDeleteHugs Julie. My Mum and Nan are/were the complete opposite to me. Nan got rid of anything she didn't use and Mum is getting more and more like her. Maybe there is hope for me yet. x
DeleteI know how you feel Lynne. I travelled the world with my husband and we moved on average every 2 years, no time for collecting unwanted items. When he was away a few years ago and I was in the UK, I went through every room, drawer and box! Not much left I was ruthless, but if something has not been used for 2 years do you really need it?? Went through my craft room two weeks ago and got rid of things that have been hiding in drawers for 8-10 years.
ReplyDeleteLove the card, must try your technique. xx
Thanks Jane. I hope I can do it too. x
Deletewhat a different look with same stencil. fab, hugs xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Theresa. Hugs to you too. x
DeleteAnother fab card. I nearly mentioned that book to you too. I've just bought it but still reading and not put it into practice yet. The folding sounds a bit intensive!
ReplyDeleteThanks Linby. I'm half way through it now and boring everyone with my new found knowledge. x
DeleteHello Lynne. just wanted to say what fabulous DT samples. I love every one of them. I love the embossing on this one. Good luck with the clear out xxxxxx
