Before I get on to today's card I have a question for my regular readers. The New Year has got me thinking about what I want to do in 2015 and I'm wondering whether to continue blogging or not. I'm not a prolific crafter, all I really make are my Clarity samples and a few personal cards. For this reason I spread them out through the month but I do wonder if that's what people want. Would you prefer if I just put the photos on Facebook and Pinterest on the day of the TV show? Or do you like to read a blog post on how they were made? Or have you got a better idea? I know a lot of people read and don't comment but I'd really appreciate some feedback on this, please.
Since I got my Spectrum Noir pencils my poor ProMarkers have been rather neglected but for this card I got them out again. They do give a lovely effect and I have since got back into using them, sometimes on their own and sometimes with the pencils.
The outside frame is created with the solid Oak Leaf stamp and various Adirondack ink pads, including Spice Big and Juicy (another blast from the past). I then found matching ProMarker colours to colour in the circular oak frame.
The deer was coloured in with ProMarkers and Spectrum Noir pencils.
To finish it off I added some acorns to each corner. The central one is cut out, shaped with a ball tool and suck on with Pinflair gel to give it some dimension.

ReplyDeleteI love your blog Lynne, and get lots of inspiration from it, but you do whatever works best for you. Have a great year, xx.
ReplyDeleteHi Lynne,
ReplyDeleteI wish you and your family all the best for 2015.
For what it's worth I've decided to focus more on my blog and less on Facebook posting. The reason being I often muss so much on Facebook when busy and feel guilty not commenting/posting. I want to make a conscious effort to comment more on blogs. I think your blog is just great. All the best...xx
Thank you for your replies ladies. I did think it might be time for a change but if you're happy with how I'm doing things, I'll carry on. Happy New Year to you all. x
ReplyDeleteYes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes I love reading your blog! I don't blog that much either Lynne but I enjoy writing it when I do! Keeps the old mind active too!

Happy new year to you all,
Jackie, x
STAY WHERE YOU ARE YOUNG LADY!!!! I am terrible for reading posts on gadgets that don't let me comment (a google problem) So my resolution is to only check blogs on my laptop. Now where would that leave me if you went elsewhere!!!
ReplyDeleteSeriously Lynne. We can all get a bit lax with our blogging but it is really good to catch up and you are such a talented designer that you have to continue to share your knowledge. Thats that settled then eh!!!!
Much love went into this comment xxx
hi Lynne. for what it's worth i'd like you to continue blogging as i love to read your inspiration and thoughts behind a card. i tend to comment as well when i have read it so if no comment it means i've missed it....oops. happy new year xx
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Lynne to you and Jason. I love the colour scheme on this card and the Design And the tutorial. Should you keep Blogging? ABSOLUTELY !! How else would I know what you are up too??? Sam xx
ReplyDeleteLynne, I have never left a comment before as I follow you by email and I didn't know how to, but the thought of you not continuing sent me into panic is I hope this works. I love what you do. You are a brilliant inspirational designer so please carry on as you are. I love hearing about Maya too x x
ReplyDeleteHappy new year, Lynne. Please continue with your blog. I don't always leave a comment but I really enjoy reading it for two reasons,
ReplyDelete1) reading what you and Maya have been up to and seeing your photos
2) to see your lovely cards in closer detail, particularly if one has caught my eye on TV and I'd like to find out more about how you've created it. You are very talented and your hints and tips have been most helpful.
Thank you for your commitment to your blog and to us so far.
Love Jeanette x

I always read your blog Lynne, but you know how I am with technology, and can't always figure out how to leave a comment xx
ReplyDeleteI agree with everyone else. Keep on blogging. I have to admit to being guilty of not always leaving comments, and my own blog has suffered recently, but I love to see what and how of your creations. xx Maggie
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Lynne. Please, please, please don't give up your blog. I have found it very inspirational and love reading your posts and also seeing how you create your cards. I know I don't always leave comments but do look at your blog very regularly. Di xx
ReplyDeleteDitto all of the above Lynne, I must put my hand up and admit I don't leave comments on blogs very often ( love reading, not good at writing lol) and have let by own blogging lapse this last month. But please keep blogging, I love your creative style and your work and ideas give me inspiration for things for our craft group to do too. Heres to a creative 2015, all the best xx
