Friendship Card

Good morning. It's a drizzly grey day here today so I think my craft room might be calling me. I have a couple of cards to make and, with Hubby's help, I finished adjusting my toile for my flapper dress yesterday so that's ready to start. I'm a bit nervous about it as the fabric I've bought is gorgeous and I don't want to mess it up.

This card was a last minute make as I only had the idea the evening before I was going to send off my samples. I suddenly realised that the circle stencil would make a large moon and the perfect background for the owls.

I stamped the owls onto some white card and masked them off with the handy mask that comes with them. I then used my Amos repositionable glue stick to stick the circle onto the owl mask before brushing on Denim and Black Adirondack Ink.

I swapped it over for the outer part of the stencil and brushed Butterscotch Adirondack ink on for the moon.

I added a bit of shading with a make-up sponge, coloured in the owls with Spectrum Noir pencils and added the foliage and "Friendship" to finish it off.

It's funny that a quick, last minute make ended up being one of my favourites. I hope you like it too.

Stamps and Stencils Used

Before I go, here's a peek at the fabric.

Hopefully it will end up as a wearable dress!
