Old School Clarity - Thinking of You Card

Hello. I just realised that I haven't blogged my card from the recent US show. It's been a funny few weeks as Hubby has been away adventure training. Apparently 3 weeks of teaching diving in the Florida Keys is "Hard work" but I don't believe a word of that and I haven't been at all jealous stuck here! Still he's coming home tomorrow and we'll be able to celebrate our 26th wedding anniversary which was yesterday.

These trees and the Moonshadow were some of the first Clarity stamps I bought, over six years ago. They were also what Barbara was using the first time I met her on my first visit to the Harrogate Show in September 2009. We were totally enthralled by Barb's demo...........

............and were very lucky to be given it (photo above).

With all this nostalgia I couldn't resist going old school with them for my card. Things have changed a lot in those years but it's still what I love to do the most.

Back then it was all done with a brayer, hills torn from copy paper and masks cut out of Post-its. Now we have the Clarity stencil brush and Clarity masks to make things easier. I used them with Adirondack Eggplant and Denim ink to create the scene.

  1. I still love 'Old School' scene building with Clarity and often go back to it when my mojo has gone walkabout, I still get a buzz out of starting with a blank piece of card and a few adirondak inks ...... they have never been as good as either Barbara's or yours ... but I still love it xx Annie Happy anniversary for yesterday xxx hope there is a present coming your way

  2. Well since Barbara and clarity are new to me and if I have any artistic ability its hidden deep, I love trying to make a scene . I bought a brayer and cannot use it properly . The brushes are great and I can produce a card I'm happy with . I'm at old school and lovin it

  6. Happy Anniversary, Lynne and Jason. I am a fan of 'Old School Clarity' too. I will always remember the first demo I saw Barbara do at the NEC many years ago. I do love the new Clarity too, although I am not so confident with it. Fab card xx
