Hello. It's nice to sit down for a bit after a busy few days. My mother-in-law, father-in-law, sister-in-law and 12 year old nephew all came to stay for the weekend. He soon became Maya's new favourite person and she wouldn't leave him alone. Unfortunately, although they have a dog, he seemed to be allergic to her. I think everyone had fun though.

I was also busy on the crafty front with some Clarity samples to make - Barbara is back on Hochanda this Thursday (25th Feb).  Today was spent finishing them and they're now safely in the post.

This card uses stamps, masks and Angelina Fibres on a printed background.

I stamped out the ballerina and masked her before printing the background.

Then, with the help of the skyline masks, I sponged in the skylines of London, Paris and New York.

I removed the masks and added the lettering.

To finish the ballerina off, I coloured her in with Spectrum Noir pencils and made her a beautiful Angelina Film and Fibres dress.

I love how it looks different colours when you move it in the light.

Angelina Fibres Chrysanthemum

I really enjoy reading Barbara Gray's blog every day, although when I read her post "A Stencil Breakthrough" it made me swear somewhat!  Let me explain.....

....... I've recently got quite into film and fibres and when I saw this stencil I thought it would look beautiful done in them. The question was "How?". I didn't think you'd be able to heat the stencil, like you can a stamp, so I tried to figure out how else I could do it.

Eventually I had what I thought was a brilliant idea - I spread out a load of the fibres and with an iron fused them into a sheet. I then ran that through my Grand Calibur with the stencil to emboss it. It looked pretty good but needed more definition, so then came the second part of my great idea - I covered my large Gelli plate with black acrylic paint and Slow Drying Gel Medium and used that to ink up the stencil. I placed that back on top of the embossed sheet of fibres and ran it through my Calibur again to transfer the ink. Bingo!

I was so chuffed with my idea, until a few days later when I read Barbara's blog and found out that you can use heat on the stencils!!!!!!!!!! Cue much swearing and laughing from me. So if you want to know how to do it properly read Barbara's post here.

Angelina Film and Fibres Balloon Card

I always enjoy working with these stamps. They are so versatile.

I've got a few Hot Air Balloon cards on here but this is the first one with Angelina Fibres and Film. It's a card I made for the German TV shows.

I think the balloons look so pretty. You can use you iron or a ball tool to get some dimension into them so they look quite realistic too.

I only have one colour of the film (Gold Pearl) so I just use different colour fibres inside it to change the colour. These are what I used.

My favourite stamp, Meadow Dance, makes an appearance too. It's the first time I've used it with the balloons but I think they go well together.

The hills are made using the Clarity Mountains and Hills mask.

'Twas the Night Before Christmas Clarity Stamps - Bauble

This is another in the range of 'Twas the Night stamps.  I think it's probably one of my favourites.  The bauble is lovely to colour and perfect for using with Angelina Fibres and Film.  That is what I've used here.  I've also used the Universal Framer that is part of the set.  It fits the verses perfectly but can also be used with other stamps, not just Christmas ones.

I used the White Gold Fibres and Pearl Gold Film.  To give it a bit more interest I coloured the sky on the stamped image in my darkest blue ProMarker, Indigo.  You can see in the top photo that it makes the sky a darker colour when you put the film and fibre sandwich on top of it..  It also makes the moon stand out more.  It's quite subtle but I like the effect.

I used Barbara Gray's technique of pushing the iron into the stamp to make the roof puff out.  It looks like it's laden down with snow.

The corner stamp is from Clarity and the 'Twas the Night words are from the first stamp in the series, the mouse in a shoe.

The gold scalloped mat is cut on my Silhouette Cameo.

'Twas the Night Before Christmas Clarity Stamps

I love this set of stamps and was very pleased to be able to make some samples with them.

This card is very simple but it's one of my favourites from this month.  It's a theatre card and I got the idea from my Everyone Needs a Hougie 2 book.  I love my Hougie board.  I used the wood effect card as I wanted it to look like a mouse hole in a skirting board.

It's just two pieces of card with a couple of score lines at each edge.  You can cut whatever shape aperture you want in the front.  Simples!

This one is my Mum's favourite.  Again it's very simple but the Angelina Fibres and Film really enhance it.

I used black Archival ink to stamp the image onto the film for the shoe.  The background is just two pieces of film with some fibres in-between.  I heated them with an iron to fuse them together, then I cut it out with a Nestabilities die.

I am lucky enough to have the whole set of these stamps and these are a couple of cards that I have  previously made with them.

I love making these folded books and had to make one with these stamps.  This one was made for my Mum and Dad.  It was before I got into Spellbinders and ProMarkers!

This one was post ProMarkers and Nestabilities, although I've still used my Sakura Stardust pens on parts of them.  I do love a bit of sparkle, especially on Christmas cards.  My Hubby was the recipient of this one, so I get to enjoy it too.  It comes out again every year.

There are three more stamps in the collection since I made the last two books.  I really need to make something new with the whole set.  This time I will try and do something that I can add to when new stamps come out, like the gorgeous wall hanging that Dee Paramour made.  The K&Co papers that I used were perfect at the time but I don't have enough left to add to it.  A wall hanging will also be easier to display.  I don't suppose it will get made in time for this Christmas though.  I haven't even started my Christmas cards!

I wonder if Barbara has created any new stamps in the collection for this year?  I do hope so.

Angelina Fibres and Film

I do like using Angelina Fibres and Film.  It's an easy technique that gives a really beautiful result. 

Barbara Gray used them with the Butterfly and Pretty Petals set from Lesson 9.  This is my version of the card she made.  

I originally intended the card to be green, so I put green fibres inside the Pearl Gold film.  I tried various shades of green Adirondack ink pads but I just didn't like the result.  In the end I used my favourite, Eggplant, and it looked much better.

I finished it off with a bow stamp by Lili of the Valley.
